You may or may not have heard of using acupuncture for arthritis knee pain but you may not be familiar with acupuncture you can do at home, which I'll explain later in this article. New studies are helping millions of arthritis sufferers who are still looking for pain relief. In these studies, a group of more than 500 people with osteoarthritis in the knee were either given acupuncture, fake acupuncture or attended meetings to learn about how to get arthritis pain relief from other sources.
The trial went on for about six months or so. It was discovered that acupuncture treatment was much more effective for about 33% of those who had acupuncture than those who didn't. Of those 33%, they showed about a 40% decrease in pain and about a 40% increase in functioning than those who had the other fake treatment with needles or just were learning to cope with pain relief who only had minimal improvement.
